ALL AND SUNDRIES

A general store offering toiletries, paperback books, medicines, sunscreen, and snacks. Conveniently located near the public bathrooms!

DECK

An outdoor area on each side of the ship. This is where the muster stations are, and where passengers will go to board tenders.

Beautiful ocean-view rooms! Odd numbers are on port side; even numbers are on starboard. It contains a queen-sized bed, a couch that can pull out into a queen, a television with no reception, and an attached bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet.

In the halls outside the cabins, a sign has been posted: there's a sign written in the cabin hallway: “Please be considerate of those of us with super-hearing / No arguments in the hall / 11 PM - 8 AM / Weekends 12 AM - 10 AM”

LAUNDRY

Laundry supplies provided free of charge. It can take two hours for bleach to reach the bloodstream.

STELLAR

A formal dining room. Breakfast is served from 7AM to 10AM; lunch is served from 11AM to 2PM; dinner is served from 6PM to 8PM. Tables are grouped by cabin, but friendliness is encouraged.

There is an industrial kitchen attached to the dining room. None of the food served seems to come from it.

PHOTOS AT SEA

A place to purchase copies of photographs taken during your cruise! Passengers may browse the photos, seeing themselves in different scenarios and places around the ship, though they don't remember the photos being taken, and have never seen anyone with a camera.

LIBRARY

Lots of cozy places to read! There is not a single non-fiction book to be found.

FATE'S DESIGN

A casino and designated smoking section. Games include slots, blackjack, poker, roulette, and craps. Chips are easily available in conspicuous buckets, and there does not seem to be any way to cash them in. The cards will deal themselves.

BELLONA THEATER

A grand theater where musicals and shows are performed for an audience. Theoretically. Actually, no one ever seems to be in here. It's where bingo happens, though!

PLAYBACK

A large location with activities for various age groups of children. Has a dance club and lounge for teens, an arcade, and an indoor playground. Someone keeps laughing. Wonder who.

There is a Build-a-Bear machine here now.

PROMENADE

A charming street-like area leading to the various clubs and bars.

A large golden statue stands in the middle.

STAN THE MAN

A posh cocktail bar. Has every variety of liquor you have ever heard of, and several that you haven't.

SAND DOLLARS

A place for coffee, conversation, and very tiny madeleines on very tiny doilies.

BOBBY B'S

Another designated smoking area, with a humidor and a collection of whiskeys with improbable-sounding ages.

A very old-looking vending machine dispenses cigarettes, with brands from various worlds.

JOHN'S

Every two hours, the piano plays a 30-minute set of Billy Joel songs.

RAINBOW RENLY

Loud music, shining lights, bad choices.

THE DRUNKEN SAILOR

Stereotypical English joint with a wide variety of beers, ales, and ciders. There are many delightful bowls of pretzels, and sometimes shepherd's pies and newspapers of fried fish end up on the tables.

SCOOPS

For all your sweet treat needs. 31 flavors of ice cream and every variety of candy you can think of. Unfortunately, the ice cream does not seem to ever serve itself. Find the scoop!

TOPY

If you thought the whiskeys were improbable! Some of these bottles say they're from years before Burgundy even had human habitation. Somewhat dusty.

MIKABO

The plates of sushi, sashimi, and small appetizers regularly appear on a conveyor belt.

Actually, have you seen any kitchens?

Also, GHOST HIBACHI! Mind the eggs. And the steak knives.

CHATTERBOX

Every night, at 9PM, a karaoke machine rolls onto the stage for exactly one hour.

THE INFINITE TOMMY BAHAMA

Tucked snugly between Sand Dollars and John's, this outlet store contains a seemingly endless array of hideous outfits. If you walk forward for long enough, you start to realize the aisles seem longer than the ship.

One section contains a collection of Moonage Lobotomy T-shirts and leather jackets, directly clashing with the rest of the brightly colored clothes around it.

LA FROMAGERIE CATHERINE INFINIE

A Belgian cheese shop, inexplicably stuffed between Chatterbox and Topy. The milks used are mostly from recognizable animals. Probably best not to ask too many questions about the dwarf cheese.

COSMIC BOWLING

Serves pitchers of beer and soda, terrible pizza, and seasoned fries.

WINDJAMMER

The buffet to end all buffets! Running 24-hours, the food is constantly refreshed and changes variety every day. However, there are always crab legs. The crab legs are a constant.

POOL BAR

For fruity frozen drinks with beach umbrellas in them.

POOL

The main pool, surrounded by phalanxes of beach chairs that always seem to already have towels on them.

ADULT POOL

A smaller, quieter pool reserved exclusively for adults. There is a massive movie screen just above it, though it never seems to play anything.
There are also two hot tubs located nearby.

CALGONA

The grandest spa on the seas! Massage tables. A full-service beauty salon. A well-equipped gym and yoga studio. Thermal suites, saunas, a salt room, and a hydrotherapy room.
And entirely self-service. No ghost massages here.

SPORTS DECK

A court with nets for basketball, soccer, and tennis. Ping pong tables. A running track. Shuffleboard. Also, equipment for ice hockey?

BRIDGE

Inaccessible.

Premise
Come Sail Away is a panfandom jamjar set on the Serena Eterna, a luxury cruise liner that sports a world-class theater, several gourmet eateries, and an impenetrable invisible barrier keeping you from disembarking. Led by a mysterious entity known only as the Captain, the ship has a seemingly endless itinerary of ports of call, but, not to worry: your friendly cruise director, Gal Friday, is here to make sure you have fun, make friends, and keep most of your organs!

Welcome aboard. You aren’t the first. You could be the last.

OOC
Canon Limits
Characters from all forms of media and originals characters are welcome. Fandom OCs are excluded, with one exception: There can be one copy of a Silent Protagonist (i.e. Hawke from Dragon Age, Lumine Genshin Impact). Warriors of Light are not allowed. CRAUs are allowed; use the canon point section of Canon to note where the AU is from.. Canon doubles are expressly allowed; the same character can be apped indefinitely as long as they are from separate canons and/or canon alternate timelines. For example, you could app Bruce Wayne from the DC Animated Universe and from the comics, but you would not be able to app Bruce Wayne from Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League: Unlimited. You could, however, app Noah from Elsword from his Celestia, Liberator, and Nyx Pieta routes.

Age Limit
There is none.

Humanization/Size Limit

Humanization is entirely optional. However, all characters are required to be at least small enough to fit through a standard door. Think "dimensionally smaller than a Mitsubishi Outlander."

Power Nerfing
Powers are not nerfed except for any that would protect the character from physically dying. So, no immortality, and no weird rocks that make time reverse.

AC
The monthly activity check consists of a minimum of one open top-level/post and one thread with at least 10 comments from you, which must not be under the top-level or post used, or three threads of 10+ comments from you each with three separate characters.

If a player does not complete AC, they are given a strike. Two strikes in a row is an automatic drop from the game.

Regains/Bonus AC
Every thread over 10 comments from you that is not used for AC can be exchanged for regains. ICly, the characters will find the items waiting for them at the sundries shop. Additional information can be found on the bonus AC page.

Death System
Every character that dies, whether on the ship or during an excursion, will have their corpse taken to the ship’s morgue by Friday, where it will stay for three days. At turn-down on the third day, the corpse is carried to their cabin by Friday and tucked lovingly into bed. The character returns to life at 6 AM the following morning.

All non-excursion deaths will incur what is known as a "stupidity tax,"  or an IC penalty on the deceased. These consequences are unique and to be settled OOCly.

Is there a consequence for killing? Well, you still have to see the person the next day, and all their friends. That could be punishment enough.

Events
Excursions include any event that happens off of the ship. They are entirely OOCly voluntary; ICly, characters will be given the opportunity to sign up after Friday has given a painfully vague presentation on what it will include, and may be signed up against their will if she feels they need to get out more. These excursions are slated to occur around once a month, starting after the second month.

Events taking place on the ship are technically voluntary; they’re harder to avoid, but can be ignored.

Applications
Applications are always open. Week-long reserves can be placed on characters, but are not necessary; it is otherwise first come, first served.

NPCs
The Captain spends the vast majority of his day on the bridge; characters can approach the door for an audience, but it is entirely up to his whims as to whether he will answer.

Gal Friday can always be found at the guest services desk on deck one. She can also be found around the ship performing various duties or leading activities, often at the same time. You will never find two Fridays in the same room; one will randomly disappear before that happens. The only constant is the guest services desk: She is never the one to disappear.

Time
One IC day = 1 OOC day, with the same dating. However, ICly, there is no year; anything that should have a year on it has it conspicuously missing.

Dropping
Dropped characters entirely disappear from the ship. Friday will act as if she has never heard their names before.

Canon Updates
Players who want to update their character can submit a form. Once approved, the character will ICly wake up in the morning with the new memories.

Hiatus
Must be applied for within the first two weeks of the month it will be taken.

OOC
Arrival
Every passenger wakes up in their assigned cabin, with no memory of what happened between their last memory and waking up. They will find a life jacket and a handwritten card asking them to please meet at their assigned muster station for a lifeboat drill at their earliest possible convenience. However, if they try to move anywhere but in the direction of the muster station, they will find themselves stuck until they change direction. At the station, Friday herself will take any passengers there through the drill, welcome them aboard, and open herself to questions, which she may answer.

Passengers arrive with everything they had on their person the last they remember, excluding anything living/sentient.

Food
The main dining room is open for a seated breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the times stated on the map; technically, passengers are seated by table, but no one is really checking. The Windjammer offers buffet dining from 7AM to 12AM. All dining options are gratis.

There are also various snacks in the sundries shop.

Post-Labyrinth, food availability has been altered. Food in the Windjammer will be replenished weekly. All other food serving locations will replenish themselves sporadically and seemingly randomly. Meals in the dining room are now a matter of chance.

Liquor stores are replenished monthly, as are cigars.

Shopping
There are a small selection of shops on board, including the famous Infinite Tommy Bahama However, passengers have no money, unless they showed up with it; and, even then, the ghosts standing at the tills do not seem to have any interest in it. But, if passengers just walk off with items, Friday will appear and lead them back, chiding them about stealing being wrong.

How do passengers get their items? Friday will only tell them to check out as they normally would. Eventually, they may figure out that if they go through the motions of checking out, by standing in line, placing their item on the counter, and then taking their item back, they will be able to leave.

The exception to this, however, is the jewelry store.

Special Dietary Requirements

Passengers with specific dietary needs, such as vampires or diabetics, will find options catering to them whenever they approach the buffet or pick up a menu at dinner. The interpretation of what that is? Entirely up to you.

Communication System
Each passenger is provided an unbranded smart phone. It has a camera, and it has one app: ShipTalk, which allows passengers to have private messages and group chats with selected passengers, provided they know their name and room number. There is no general chat.

There is an intercom system that can be heard in every room on the ship, including all cabins. It is mainly used for Friday's announcements, but she can be convinced.

Ghosts

Free.

Excursions
The Serena Eterna will make occasional stops in various ports of call, ranging from tropical beaches to snowy mountains to a single room. Passengers will be taken ashore by Friday via tender and can return to the ship at any time via the same method as long as they can physically make it to the boat. Exploration, as well as participation in ship-led activities, is encouraged.

Escape
There is none. Those who can fly or swim will find themselves facing an invisible barrier once they have gone more than ten miles in any direction. The ship can be felt moving, and the engines are running, but this ten mile radius never alters.

Language
Everyone onboard the Serena Eterna suddenly communicates entirely in English, as if someone is intercepting the thoughts in their head and translating them before they leave their mouths or fingers. However, if they are persistent, and dedicated, and very, very annoying, passengers can find they can break through the translation, if only for a few words at a time. Nothing long enough to plan in.

Animals can speak now. It's fine.
