[ Fio, accompanied by a levitating Judith, has just arrived at Playback. Of course, Sparkles is still on her mind...
So while she looks around, trying to decide which arcade machine to practice on today, she keeps checking the shadows if there's anything different about them. Where is it? ...She doesn't want to admit out loud that she doesn't want to wait another several months to see it again. ]

[ Guess who's back at the bridge with a plate of baklava.
Except Darcy still isn't sure if the Captain not answering at the end of March was a 'I don't want to talk to you' thing or a 'was kidnapped' thing, so. She's just kind of sitting on the roof, seeing if he shows up. ]

[Siffleur comes up to Friday's desk, being careful to pick a time where people aren't around. He gives her a quick smile and a nods.]
Hello Friday. Is now a good time to ask you some questions?

Karkat approaches the bridge and sits down next to the door to the Captain’s quarters.
“HEY,” he addresses the door in a softer tone than he did the last time he came here. “YOU DON’T HAVE TO ANSWER ANY OF MY INANE RAMBLINGS THIS TIME. THIS ISN’T A CUSTOMER SERVICE VISIT OR ANYTHING. I JUST WANTED TO LIKE, CHECK IN, MAKE SURE YOU’RE STILL KICKING, AND ALL THAT. THIS WHOLE LABYRINTH FIASCO WAS A TOTAL TRAINWRECK FOR US BUT I IMAGINE IT SUCKED FOR YOU TOO. THAT KID WAS LIKE A PART OF YOU, RIGHT? THAT SOUNDS FUCKING MORTIFYING. I ALREADY EMBARRASS MYSELF IN FRONT OF PEOPLE ENOUGH ON MY OWN WITHOUT HAVING SOME OTHER ASPECT OF MY PERSONALITY LETTING LOOSE A DELUGE OF REPRESSED SHIT TOWARDS THE GENERAL UNSUSPECTING PUBLIC. THOUGH I GUESS PAST AND FUTURE ME SURE HAD FUN DOING THAT SORT OF NONSENSE BACK WHEN I USED TROLLIAN. THEY WERE ALWAYS A FUCKIN HANDFUL, LET ME TELL YOU.”
He sighs. “ANYWAY, I AM CLEARLY JUST TALKING TO HEAR MYSELF TALK AT THIS POINT. SO I WILL LEAVE YOU TO BE A RECLUSE. JUST WANTED TO LIKE... CHECK IN AND STUFF. YEAH...” (Great end of sentence there, buddy.)

Well, hello there, beautiful! It’s always such a pleasure to see you around.
[ the whole ‘being faceless’ thing isn’t enough to stop him from hitting her up! ]
Is there some sort of announcement system, by any chance? As the Great Chosen One, I wanted to reach out and offer my services to the other passengers!

[literally already taking a piece off the plate before she even finishes sitting down.]
[honey he's home]
I need to ask you for a terribly annoying, but very quick favor.

[ Well that clears things up, ] this is thanks for the kitchens. How are you holding up?
[ A gasp, freezing up. Oh, that would've smacked her in the face...
Fio scoops the stuffed rabbit into her arms and stares cautiously at the machine. She's never won anything from those things. And she's never seen it spit out a prize like that? ]
Um...

Um...
My mother is worried we're running out of power now that the ghosts are gone and Sparkles isn't powering things. We asked Skullduggery and he said that we need to run the ship off suffering. So, my mom's questions-
[He flips the notebook open to the right page and goes through the simplified questions. Siffleur had insisted on making them easier, because Friday is busy and they do not need to waste her time. Also no matter what mother thinks, they don't need to know all the mechanics to help.]
Is the suffering we make able to be stored up, like in a kind of battery?
Does the suffering need to happen on the ship, and in the pocket spaces that are made for excursions? Or could we steal suffering from another universe, like a hell-dimension where there's lots of bonus suffering? [Crossed out on the page in a far more professional printing style is 'steal cable from the cenobites'. Siffleur will ask his mother's questions but he won't say that part.]
Does it count as fuel for the ship if I'm the one making people suffer? Or does it need to happen because of a change to the ship?
[He stops there. Siffleur gives Friday an apologetic grimace.] Mom had a lot of things to ask...

Yeah, that was a dumb question to ask anyone.
[ ... ]
Are you going to dunk on me if I try and make some apologies?

Are you going to dunk on me if I try and make some apologies?
I'll give you two free ones before I start making any snide remarks.
